Frequently Asked
FAQs
Questions that come up often enough to deserve a page.
Who writes this blog? +
Yaroslav Kladko — a Senior Java Developer with 8+ years across fintech, iGaming and telecom. See the About page for the full background.
How often do new articles appear? +
Roughly one or two per month. Articles go up when they're ready, not on a schedule — I'd rather publish less often than publish something shallow.
Why so much focus on Java? +
Because that's where I've spent most of my career, and because a lot of the "scalability" advice online skips over the JVM specifics that matter in production. The patterns translate to any backend stack, but the code examples are Java-biased.
Can I reprint an article on my company blog / Medium / Dev.to? +
Short excerpts with attribution — yes, no need to ask. Full reprints — please email first. Translations are welcome; attribution and a link back are the only requirements.
The code example in article X has a bug. What do I do? +
Email me with the article title and the line you think is wrong. I'll verify and update within a day or two. Your name goes in the thanks section if you'd like.
Do you accept guest posts? +
Not right now. If you have a specific case study worth writing up, I'm happy to chat — sometimes we can co-author.
Is there a newsletter? +
Not yet. RSS (/rss.xml) is the only way to follow updates for now. A newsletter is on the backlog.
Consulting and speaking? +
Both yes, selectively. Send a short email with context (company, timeline, topic) and I'll get back to you.
Is this site open source? +
The Astro template is based on AstroWind (MIT). The articles and custom design are mine — please don't clone the whole site, but feel free to borrow patterns.
Something's broken on the site itself. +
Email me with what you tried and what browser you're using. Screenshots help a lot.
