Privacy Policy

Last updated: April 22, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains what happens to your information when you visit this personal blog (the “Site”). The short version: very little data is collected, and nothing is sold.

1. What we collect

Basic server logs

The Site’s hosting provider automatically records standard web-server information for every request:

  • IP address (may be truncated / anonymized)
  • Browser type and version
  • Pages visited and timestamps
  • Referring URL

These logs are used to diagnose issues and to measure aggregate traffic. They are retained for no more than 30 days.

Analytics

If privacy-friendly analytics are enabled (e.g. Plausible, Umami), the Site records aggregate page views, referrers, and country-level location. No cookies are set and no individuals are tracked across visits or sites.

If full analytics are ever added, this page will be updated to disclose what’s collected and which provider is used.

Email correspondence

If you email the author, that email and your reply address are retained as long as needed to handle the conversation. Emails are not added to any mailing list without your explicit consent.

2. What we do NOT collect

  • No account registration, no passwords
  • No advertising cookies, no ad-tech pixels
  • No cross-site tracking
  • No sale of data to third parties — ever

3. Cookies

The Site itself does not set tracking cookies. Essential cookies may be set by the hosting provider for security purposes (e.g. DDoS protection). You can clear these at any time via your browser settings without impact on normal browsing.

4. Third-party services

The Site may embed content or link to third-party services (GitHub, LinkedIn, etc.). When you interact with embedded content or follow a link, the third party’s privacy policy applies.

5. Your rights

If you’re an EU/UK resident, you have rights under GDPR / UK GDPR including access, correction, deletion, and objection. You can exercise any of these by emailing the address below. Since very little personal data is collected, most requests can be answered quickly.

California residents have similar rights under CCPA. Same contact applies.

6. Security

Reasonable technical and organizational measures are taken to protect any information that is collected. However, no method of transmission over the Internet is 100% secure.

7. Children

The Site is not directed at children under 13. No information is knowingly collected from children.

8. Changes to this Policy

This Policy may be updated occasionally. Material changes will be noted on this page with a revised “Last updated” date.

9. Contact
